Welcome to DIAMUN 2011

Dubai International Academy is proud to inform you that DIAMUN is now a THIMUN (The Hague International Model United Nations) affiliated conference. We are honoured to invite you to participate in our third annual Dubai International Academy Model United Nations (DIAMUN) Conference, which will be held from 23th to 26th March 2011.

The DIAMUN 2011 Conference will specifically address 'The Advancement of Technology'. The exponential rate at which technology is advancing has a strong influence on the social, scientific, cultural and economic aspects of our world. DIAMUN will use this theme as a vehicle to discuss the impact of technology on topics such as: disarmament and international security; social, humanitarian and cultural concerns; and issues surrounding the economic and financial health of the world community.

The primary aim of DIAMUN is to provide a forum for students to discuss global concerns in a context that closely parallels the real world. In a Model UN conference students learn vital skills in research, writing, speaking, consensus building and conflict resolution as they step into the role of delegates for the countries they represent.

DIAMUN will also hold a World Economic Forum. The World Economic Forum focuses on striving towards a world-class corporate governance system where values are as important as rules. Students will have the opportunity to explore issues such as the correlation between economic progress and social development, as economic progress without social development is not sustainable, while social development without economic progress is not feasible.
